Their work addresses real-world challenges \u2014 from digital literacy and online safety to broadband connectivity and responsible AI \u2014 bringing forward solutions that make technology more effective and accessible to all. <br><br>As part of the ITU160 Gender Champions initiative, they will travel to Geneva to participate in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/net4\/wsis\/forum\/2025\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WSIS+20 High-Level Event<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aiforgood.itu.int\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AI for Good Global Summit<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/itu.int\/160\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ITU\u2019s 160th Anniversary<\/a> commemorations from\u00a07\u201311 July initiative    <\/h3>\n                        <p>\n        Launched on the occasion of <strong>ITU\u2019s 160th Anniversary<\/strong>, the <strong>ITU160 Gender Champions<\/strong> initiative recognizes and supports young women who are contributing to digital development and transformation worldwide.<br><br>With support from the <strong>Government of Canada<\/strong>, the initiative provides a platform for 10 young women leaders (ages 18\u201325) to share their work, engage with global stakeholders, and help shape the future of digital connectivity.<br><br>Throughout their week in Geneva, the Gender Champions will:    <\/p>\n                    <div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<li><strong>Engage<\/strong> with key stakeholders in the digital and tech sectors<br><\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<li><strong>Amplify<\/strong> their work in digital development and digital transformation, by actively participating in a variety of sessions and activities<br><\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<li><strong>Co-design and facilitate <\/strong>with their unique perspective, a workshop on promoting gender equality in digital transformation<br><br><\/li>\n<\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div>                        <h3 class=\"h5\">\n        Selection process    <\/h3>\n                        <p>\n        The Gender Champions were selected from a highly competitive pool of 1,179 applications received from over 150 countries. The final cohort reflects a diversity of regional perspectives and lived experiences, with special consideration given to applicants from developing countries, least developed countries (LDCs), landlocked developing countries (LLDCs), small island developing states (SIDS), Indigenous communities, and young women with disabilities.    <\/p>\n                        <h3 class=\"h5\">\n        Follow along     <\/h3>\n                        <p>\n        Updates, stories, and spotlights from the Gender Champions\u2019 week in Geneva will be  on ITU\u2019s social media channels, see footer.
